Feeling like a video game brought to life, Boss Level is a fun and fast paced adventure that combines familiar elements into a fresh take on action movies. Selectable main character and retired special forces operator Roy Pulver (Grillo) is in an unfortunate situation: his day keeps repeating while he is chased by a never-ending cadre of assassins.
They won’t stop until he is dead, however, every time he dies, he wakes up again in his bed, with the knowledge of what happened before. While the “time-loop” convention is nothing new, the script is fun and does in fact evolve the story well past the typical take on repeat scenarios.
The plethora of evil assassin attacks leads to a barrage of high-octane action, however despite repeated scenarios, Boss Level looks to advance its story in unique ways. As a plot slowly reveals itself, we ride with our hero Roy as he familiarizes himself with new and different challenges.
This fun and fast paced ride contains colorful characters and creative gunplay. The cast is great and help ground the somewhat wacky material.
