Everybody Wants Some!! – 2016 – Comedy, Drama
Directed by: Richard Linklater
Written by: Richard Linklater
Main Players: Blake Jenner; Tyler Hoechlin; Zoey Deutch; Wyatt Russell; Glenn Powell; Ryan Guzman; Juston Street

Taking place in the 1980’s and entirely during the course of the weekend before college classes start, the plot sees new student and baseball player Jake (Jenner) moving into an off-campus house with the rest of the team members.
While the story itself may not bring anything new to the college comedy/coming-of-age arena, the energy crackles and the authenticity rings true. Ultimately, the plot can only cover so much ground as it is condensed into covering just a couple of days, and the end may leave viewers asking for more or a more cohesive conclusion. That being said, I had an absolute blast enjoying the antics of the young, party and girl chasing crowd.
The cast is excellent, albeit likely a tad old to be playing college kids. Despite that, they all ace their personalities and roles. The dialogue zips and gives life to the varied athletes, and their motivations feel familiar for those aged viewers that are still in touch with their younger selves.
If Linklater’s brand of films are your vibe, you should fit in with this crowd very well. It is fully unrelated to his other films, however feels very familiar. The movie does what it does very well, and for me personally, I would like to watch a much longer version of this movie which covers even more ground.
