Rebel Ridge Poster

Knowing nothing going into the town of Shelby Springs as a viewer is probably best, as it mirrors main character Terry Richmond (Pierra) who is biking into town with his headphones on. Immediately Terry is stopped (profiled?) by police, and his day instantly changes. The thing is, today he is on a deadline, and he is on his way to help his cousin which desperately needs it.

Unfortunately, this incident kicks off a righteous chain of events. The sleepy small town remains the setting for all that unfolds, as Terry looks to right many wrongs. Looks can be deceiving, as Terry begins to figure out in trying to complete his business in Shelby Springs.

The script is really well written and the pacing is about perfect. This is the type of movie that is so engrossing and entertaining that you do not want it to end. While it is a long tale, it has enough plot for the runtime, with plenty of interesting turns.

While it definitely could be categorized as an action movie, the smart script is just as much of a star as the cast and stunt work. Brief moments of action are tense and realistic, with uncertain outcomes at most all times. This matched the overall story, which seemed like it could go down almost any path also.

The smart and unpredictable thriller Rebel Ridge is tense, clever and stylish. The acting is great and the action hits. Tune in and enjoy the ride.
