Novocaine Ver2 Xlg

Bank Assistant Manager and general good guy Nathan Caine has a weird genetic disorder where he can’t feel pain, or much of anything in his whole body. Does it also mean that he can’t feel pleasure? Well, he thinks he can, or at least is willing to try when mega-hottie teller co-worker Sherry (Midthunder) shows interest in him.

Unfortunately, a bunch of Santas have other plans. As Nate’s day is turned into insanity, Sherry’s life is put into danger. But what can a made who can’t feel pain do in a dangerous situation? Well, it turns out, mostly anything.

Novocaine is a fairly bonkers ride of action, gunfire, chaotic fights and explosions as the amateur crimefighter Nate goes on a thunderous tear, looking to save Sherry from the grips of horrible criminals. Yes, the tale is basically one action set piece after the next, but Nate and his disorder are used well, and there is some good dialogue to boot. While Nate has no idea what he is doing, that is part of the film’s success.

The movie’s story is fairly simple, but the set-up is solid and the ride is fun. The acting matches the atmosphere, and it’s always good to know that when in a pinch, guns still fire when deep fried. If you are ready for something that you don’t have to take all that seriously and can still fully enjoy, try Novocaine. The only warning is that there is a bit of the old blood-n-gore, as the movie takes advantage of its non-feeling hero and has some vicious fights.
