Babes Ver2 Xlg

Friends Eden (Glazer) and Dawn (Buteau) catch a 9AM movie showing to continue to carry on with their 27-year Thanksgiving Day tradition. They get popcorn and snacks and head inside. Dawn is super pregnant with her second, but isn’t due for another 2 weeks. She does however call her doctor when it appears that her water mayyyy be slowly breaking. Labor changes these ladies’ plans, but they still hit up lunch before the hospital.

Maybe this was a bad idea… Labor is a bit more intense than expected, and Dawn just wants to finish her meal. Babes kicks off in this over-the-top fashion with exaggerated performances to drive home the comedy.

As Dawn and Eden reconcile with normal, yet quite painful, life advances such as childbirth, their worlds are rocked and their strained friendship struggles to keep up. The humor is both clever and crude, while ringing true for a close longtime oddball friendship.

The film bounces along with ups and downs of pregnancies and life impacts that come with. If you can handle some raunch with your jokes and a dash of flavor with your dialogue, then this film should work for you.

The main duo absolutely nail their roles and respective humor types, and the director is always fantastic with her work, so the final product is fairly well done. Kick back, have a good time, cause it’s about to be Jumpin’ Jumpin’.
