A shuttle zooms through space. Construction of lunar colonies has begun. The Mayflower 1 takes passengers to the moon commercially for the first time. This is the world of the future!
Houston. Still the future. A bustling airport starts the plot as nuns and armed terrorists alike walk through the metal detectors. Security is pretty weak. They don’t even notice E.T. A normal family and Scraps the dog embark on a shuttle in order to visit the moon, along with a load of other interested parties.
Elaine Dickinson (Hagerty) is back, having taken a computer officer job on the lunar mission. She even has been offered the Jupiter probe. Too bad her fiancé Simon Kurtz (Everett) says too bad, it’s baby time after their wedding. Elaine worries about the shuttle however, as ex-test pilot Ted Stryker (Hays) says there could be trouble with launches.
Too bad no one believes him, as he had a mental breakdown. Is there danger, or is it all in Ted’s head? As he notices the XR-2300 shuttle is planned for launch the following day, he knows it must be stopped!!
Airplane II: The Sequel is not as sharp as the first, but it remains pretty funny and chock full of jokes and gags of all kinds. It is an okay sequel!! Just don’t forget to check your baby into the baggage claim and make sure to fasten your seatbelt.
