Mike And Nick And Nick And Alice Xlg

As a singing dancing Symon (Schwartz) zips around his technological laboratory, hidden in a large storage unit, he scribbles equations on his chalkboard and finally cracks his problem. Suddenly… a bright light appears. Guns are drawn. Chaos ensues!!

Cut to a party, as mobster leader Sosa (David) has a cake for his son Jimmy Boy (Tatro), who was just released from a six-year prison stint. The group of killers, gangsters and soldiers hypes up Jimmy for finally being out of the clank. He is thrilled. But… Sosa thinks that one of the people at the party is a rat, having been the one that sent his son to lockup.

At the bar drinking is “Quick Draw” Mike (Marsden), who is watched intensely by Nick (Vaughn). Nick’s wife Alice (González) comes up to him and asks him if he will attend the afterparty. Nick appears disinterested, both in the party and his wife. She decides to go “out with the girls,” however catches Mike’s eye on the way out.

As Mike heads to his hotel room and calls Alice for an eventual rendezvous, drama is afoot. Nick won’t be happy. But… suddenly things get tense as Nick appears at Mike’s door, and suspense ratchets up! Nick has a heavy and weird job for him, and he needs ol’ Quick Draw. It is time sensitive, and will get strange. Mike is hesitant, but eventually the men head out to complete Nick’s task. Shit gets weird, as Mike goes to chloroform his target, which happens to look exactly like Nick. What is going on?!

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice is a zany time-traveling adventure, featuring plenty of comedy and goofy situations. The script is decent and full of good lines and clever moments. The chaos is well composed and leads to hard to anticipate progressions. Overall, it is harmless fun for the most part, with some solid action bits, good chemistry and an atmosphere of silliness mixed in.

The writer/director did a fine job keeping it all on the rails, while the actors clearly had some fun with their characters.

I don’t know what the fuck you three are up to, but someone elbowed me in the eye, and that is not cool.
