Happy Death Day 2U – 2019 – Horror, Comedy, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Directed by: Christopher Landon
Written by: Scott Lobdell; Christopher Landon
Main Players: Jessica Rothe; Israel Broussard; Rachel Matthews; Phi Vu; Steve Zissis

Diving even deeper into the unusual events of the first movie, as well as adding another excellent layer of plot mechanic nuttiness, this sequel lost no steam and even enhances the original film through further explorations. The added elements remain cohesive, despite a slight shift in genre.
A matured Tree Gelbman (Rothe) is returned to events of the past, whether she wanted to or not. Facing a new terror and slasher killer, Tree and friends navigate creative new death and mayhem threats. The horror is even less featured in this sequel, but the comedy remains and its shift into new territory brings out additional story elements, even dating back to the first film. The actors are given a lot to do and react with even more perspective on strange occurrences.
This is another plot not to dig too far into before watching the movie. Somehow this film manages to balance comedy, slasher horror, sci-fi and touching moments. Relax your mind and have a good time!
