Oddity Movie Poster

This tale is one of supernatural mystery and intrigue with a cold horror-like chill running throughout. The atmosphere is rife with creepy scenarios and hair-raising shocks. Oddity definitely dabbles in horror elements with the usual creepy as hell setting and essential macabre factors, however more is at play with the story.

After her sister Dani is murdered, psychic medium Darcy (both played by Bracken) is looking for answers. Dani left behind a doctor husband Ted (Lee) and a hole in his and Darcy’s lives. On the anniversary of her sister’s death, Darcy shows up at Ted and Dani’s home, and site of Darcy’s murder, bringing her “gifts” with her.

The cast is small and the settings are limited, likely reflecting a small budget. The film is inhibited by neither factor, as the intimate characters and locations are all that the story requires. The film plays out with strong acting, an intriguing yet simple story, and fully ominous cinematography. The settings are both familiar and sinister, while the terror is disturbing, and somehow very real. Check it out, it is a quality creep show with a solid story.
