Twilight Of The Warriors Movie Poster

Set in the 1980s in Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City, Twilight of the Warriors tells of troubled scrapper Chan Lok-kwan (Lam) who enters the crime filled borough after being double crossed by a local crime lord. Despite his winnings in an underground fight ring, his attempts to buy a fake ID were squandered by Mr. Big (Hung), the local boss who keeps his money.

Grabbing a bag of drugs and fleeing the crime den leads Chan to the edge of the walled city, with gangsters in hot pursuit. The Walled City provides Chan instant anonymity and a place to lie low however he is soon caught up with its own local crime lord, Cyclone. As Cyclone and Chan try to find a middle ground, Mr. Big considers an assault on the Walled City.

As gang wars break out, the citizens and criminals inside the city must survive in any way possible. Chan finds allies and enemies, and navigates the unique life of the Kowloon city. As the movie continues, plots of past and present collide in a whirlwind of fists, bullets and chaos.

This film is set in a real city which was eventually demolished in 1993 and has been converted into a well-manicured green space. This movie did so well at the Chinese box office that both a prequel part 2 and sequel final chapter part 3 are coming.
