Cloak And Dagger Xlg

Two Soviet soldiers stand guard. One walks off, heading out to patrol. KAAAPOOWWWWWW: he is taken out from above by an American parachute wielding agent. Off to the embassy this man now goes on a one-man rampage, taking out everyone in sight.

This is Jack Flack (Coleman). And his only weakness is…. A bad roll of the dice. Yes, this is the fantasy world of a table top adventure game, based on a hit video game series. Davey (Thomas) and his friend Kim (Nigra) both play it with their adult friend Morris (Forsythe) in his video game shop.

But what happens when Morris gives them a secret mission to head into the city, go to a business Textronics, and collect some data catalogs, as well as a pack of Twinkies? Well, things get a bit wilder. As the kids set out on their spy mission, armed with walkie talkies and a gun replica which would get them lit up by police today, they stumble into a deadly plot.

All of a sudden, the bullets start to fly and gangsters are on Davey’s every move. Thankfully Davey has Jack Flack with him, who appears to give advice and tips to him. No cops. No dads (also played by Coleman). Flack helps Davey elude the danger for now…

While Cloak & Dagger is definitely more of a kiddy type affair, and also of its 80s time, this movie still holds up decently well and is a solid story with some decent tension. The film likely would not get made in the same way today, as it does get a tad “murder-y”. I probably also personally give this movie extra points since I saw it when young.

Modern kids would probably enjoy this movie, if you have some of those things, but they may be confused about the dated technology and ask too many questions.
