I Love Boosters Xlg

Get ready for the quirky flow of I Love Boosters and let it take you on a journey with plenty to say. While a tease of the setup will really only get you so far, here we go. Grooving through the club is Corvette (Palmer). She bops slowly and weaves to the flowing RnB tunes on a dark and murky dance floor before locking eyes with a strange hypnotic Pinky Ring Guy (Stanfield). This is quickly broken up by a fight and bouncers throwing out an unruly man. Designer Suit Dude makes his move. He’s a player and he sees his hottie target in Corvette.

Isn’t she Amara from Richmond? Nah, she’s def Corvette from Oakland. But for real, what’s his shoe size. Mmm. Maybe he can impress her and get down ‘n dirty with it… Size. 12. Corvette leads him home, and he is excited to follow her. He is IN!! Time to hit her apartment for exactly what he wants. As they go inside her abode… well… let’s just say this film is just starting to take off. This man may not be about to get laid unfortunately, but Corvette may keep him looking fresh at least for next time in the club.

I Love Boosters covers a myriad of concepts as well as characters. As Corvette and her friend Mariah (Paige) live inside a dilapidated Jackie’s Chicken joint selling boosted clothing, their worlds are about to take off in wild and zany ways. This does not even begin to scratch the surface of this bonkers and relatively high-concept plot tied into the world of high fashion and science fiction.

While I Love Boosters didn’t rock my world as much as Sorry to Bother You did, I still got into its groove and had a pretty good time. This is an extremely entertaining take on reality, money circulation, and idea formulation. The raw creativity on display was always entertaining. Visually, the colors rocked. Musically, the score helped push along the frenetic energy of the ocular stylings.

The writing kept things interesting throughout, while giving the cast a lot to do. I think they all found the right beat to follow and got a lot out of their characters. A script like this wouldn’t have been possible without them making it plausible with such good performances and making it a lot of fun at times while also giving some replay value with nuance touches. If you can handle shit that gets a little wild, go boost a bit.

“Low class urban bitches. With all due respect to urban bitches.”
